Grains d’Estuaire is the story of two long time friends, passionate and hearty eaters, Julien Bonneau and Alexandre Lavigne who were keen to create their own range of wines in their preferred french region, Charente Maritîme. Julien is a young winegrower from Saint Ciers Sur Gironde, where he perpetuates the family wineyard of Château Haut Grelot. Brilliantly rewarded as Best Youg Talent with « Prix Raisin » (french recompense for winemaker), he attaches great importance to the quality of the grapes. Observation and tasting allow him to improve and adapt his winemaking techniques to produce quality wine.
Alexandre, owner of the gourmet restaurant l’Arrosoir at Saint Palais Sur Mer keeps his cuisine career up. Trained by the greatest of french gastronomy, especially in « PréCatelan » (a famous french restaurant in Paris), he decided to whrite his own story, offer his own gastronomy, and settle in his native region. Their meeting is the result of their respective passion for flavors and tastes, but before anything else of their friendship story. This was the beginning of Grains d’Estuaire, since 2013. The vineyard is located on the gravelly ridges bordering the Gironde Estuary, in the city of Saint Bonnet sur Gironde, and count today more than 15 Hectares certified IGP Charentais. Our domaine is fully in line with a reasoned agriculture approach, where the balance of the plant and the maturity of the grapes are essentia.
